Nestling on the sunny Sussex coast on the edge of the Private Sea Estate in Rustington you will find a little community of beach huts. The huts are located directly on the beach and are screened from the north by beautiful Tamarisk trees and are accessed from a private car park which is perfectly positioned with the UK national coastal path running right alongside.
Rustington Beach Huts is one of the very few privately owned beach hut sites and the aim of the company has been to be one of the most attractive sites in the country. To this end and after much research, the company now build their own huts to a high specification, using the most suitable materials for this environment, including all treated timber and stainless steel fixings. The huts are painted in bright colours and have fitted interiors with everything needed for a perfect day on the beach. “We like new owners to be surprised and delighted as they open the doors for the first time”.
There is no seasonal limit to using the huts. Being sheltered from the north the huts are in the finest location when the sky is clear but there are cold northerly winds. The most perfect place to be on such days. People have been seen sun bathing in November and March and a couple enjoying their Christmas lunch on the beach! In fact a beach hut for all seasons!
If you’re feeling energetic, the UK national coastal path running through the car park offers miles of coastal walks. It is a perfect land safe location for children as there are no roads near the site.
BEACH HUTS
There are a range of different types of beach huts on the site. Some older types of huts remain but these are gradually being replaced by a new generation of huts built to a high specification. Because the company build only the finest huts they are now unable to compete with cheaper huts built down to a price.
The philosophy of building to a standard and not a price make the huts too expensive to sell to others. Consequently the company now only build them for themselves although their plans and templates are available to other beach hut companies on request.
A fresh approach has been taken to the huts interiors which now include a compact galley unit for hand washing and the easy preparation of refreshments.
Soft furnishings including colour coordinated privacy curtains, wind breaks and tennis chairs from Southsea Deckchairs (the UK’s number 1 supplier of high quality beach furniture) are often now part of the package.
In constructing a new hut the aim of the company has been to build it to last and at the same time with the minimum of maintenance. To this end their philosophy has been to use the best materials and to construct a “smart” hut.
The use of colourful water based paints and special primer means that the hut should not require repainting for several years. As with most maintenance the key is in careful preparation

Buying or renting
Very occasionally new huts become available for purchase directly from the family owned company as well as pre-owned huts. As with most beach huts in the UK, the huts are sold subject to a license which includes the use of the private car park. The company also have huts to let and these are available on an annual basis starting in the spring and early summer. Rental prices are inclusive of licence fee and insurance.
